The Pakistan Cricket Board has said that India will not come to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy to be played in three cities of the country in February next year.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesperson Samiul Hasan told AFP news agency that an email has been received from the International Cricket Council in which the Indian board has informed the ICC that the Champions Trophy 2025 Therefore, his team will not visit Pakistan.
The spokesperson said that PCB has forwarded the email to the government for consultation and guidance.
Next year, from February 19 to March 19, the Champions Trophy matches will be played in three cities of Pakistan, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Karachi, but the schedule of this event was to be finalized after India’s response.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi had earlier ruled out the possibility of holding any hybrid event when India played all the matches in the UAE earlier too.
Mohsin Naqvi had said on Saturday that ‘Pakistan has had a good attitude towards India in the past and we would like to make it clear that India should not expect friendly behavior from us every time.’
“If he does not come to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy, the government will also decide whether we should go to India for future events.” It will not be decided by the PCB.’
