The Pakistan Cricket Team Selection Committee has announced the playing eleven for the first ODI against Australia.
According to the statement released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the National Selection Committee has announced the 11-member team for the first match of the 3-match One Day International against Australia.
Mohammad Rizwan will lead Pakistan for the first time in ODIs while batsman Mohammad Irfan Khan will make his international debut.
Apart from team captain Muhammad Rizwan, Pakistan’s playing XI includes vice-captain Salman Ali Agha, Abdullah Shafiq, Saeem Ayub, Babar Azam and Kamran Ghulam.
Pakistan team will field with 4 fast bowlers including Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf and Mohammad Hasnain.
Pakistan’s national team captain Mohammad Rizwan said in a press conference in Melbourne on Sunday that ‘we have to forget the past and move forward.’
He expressed happiness over the presence of the selection committee member in Australia.
Mohammad Rizwan said that ‘I will also be consulted in the playing eleven. I am one of those who walk with advice, take advice from young players as well.’
He further said that ‘Babar Azam, Shaheen and Naseem have had many performances for Pakistan, today the name of Babar and Shaheen is only because of their performances.’
Mohammad Rizwan further said that ‘fans are definitely a little angry on the performance of Pakistan team, we are supported by Pakistani fans all over the world, we will not disappoint them now.’
It should be noted that the first one-day international between Pakistan and Australia will be played on Sunday, November 4, while the second one-day match will be played on November 8 and the third on November 10.
T20 international matches will be played between Pakistan and Australia teams from November 14 to 18.
