Indian Punjab politician and former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu is returning to the comedy show The Kapil Sharma Show after five years.
According to Indian media, a new promo of ‘The Great Indian Couple Show Season Two’ aired on film and TV streaming platform Netflix has been released recently, featuring Navjot Singh Sidhu.
Navjot Singh has shared a promo of the show on his Instagram, in which he is seen sitting on the judge’s chair of the show while Archanapuran Singh is seen looking worried.
In the promo, Kapil jokes that Archanapuran Singh has disguised himself to resemble Navjot Singh Sidhu, to which Sidhu clarifies that he is in fact Navjot Singh.
Archanapuran Singh then steps on stage and asks Kapil to intervene, ‘Kapil, tell Sardar sir to vacate my seat, he has taken my place.’
Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh was also present in the episode and supported Sidhu, saying ‘no one can truly replace him’.
At the end of the video, it becomes clear that Navjot Singh Kapil Sharma is going to participate in the show as a guest instead of a judge and will be accompanied by his wife.
It should be noted that Navjot Singh Sidhu played the role of a judge on The Kapil Sharma Show till 2019, after which he was replaced by Archanapuran Singh.
A statement by Sidhu on the Pulwama attacks landed him in trouble, leading to protests against him in India and the management of The Kapil Sharma Show had to remove him from the show.
Navjot Singh used to grace Kapil Sharma’s comedy shows with his jokes, poetry and laughter and was very popular.
After getting out of The Kapil Show, fans were speculating that Navjot Singh might be returning to The Kapil Show.
However, Netflix has invited him as a guest on the show after five years.
