The accused involved in firing on Chinese citizens will be punished: Shehbaz Sharif

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the accused involved in the incident of firing on Chinese citizens in Karachi will be punished.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday visited the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad and met Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zhidong.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Shahbaz Sharif assured the Chinese ambassador that the accused involved in the shooting incident on Chinese citizens in Karachi will be punished.

It should be remembered that on October 6, three people, including two Chinese engineers, were killed and 11 people were injured in an attack on a convoy carrying Chinese citizens in Karachi.
The Baloch separatist group Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the blast.
The Chinese government had demanded Pakistan to give ‘severe punishment’ to the attackers.
In a statement from the Chinese Foreign Ministry, it was said that ‘China demands Pakistan to remove security deficiencies and take concrete action to protect CPEC and Chinese citizens in Pakistan.’
Apart from this, in an incident in Karachi on Tuesday, a security guard of a factory opened fire and injured two Chinese nationals.
This incident of firing took place in a factory located in Site Industrial Area of ​​Karachi. Both the injured Chinese nationals were shifted to Liaquat National Hospital for treatment.

According to police officials, the security guard of the factory opened fire on the Chinese nationals after the dispute.
He further said that according to the initial investigation, the guard opened fire after a bitter exchange with the Chinese nationals, injuring both of them.
In recent years, Pakistan has seen an increase in attacks on Chinese nationals. Chinese engineers, experts and facilities have been targeted in Karachi, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Most of these attacks have been claimed by the outlawed Baloch Liberation Army, which is active in Balochistan, and the outfit has adopted a strategy that deviates from its traditional methods of carrying out such attacks.
