The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted strong winds and rain in the upper regions of the country from Thursday to Saturday.
“Snowfall is likely in the hilly areas on Friday and Saturday, while westerly winds are expected to enter the upper parts of the country from Thursday.”
Similarly, between Thursday and Friday, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar and Lahore are also likely to experience light rain with strong winds and thundershowers.
The Meteorological Department says that heavy winds and thundershowers are likely in Dir, Swat, Butgram, Abbottabad, Murree, Guliyat, Pakistan-administered Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
During the monsoon, there is a possibility of reduction in smog in Islamabad, Potohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Upper Punjab areas.
Meteorological department officials said that the rains are expected to reduce air pollution and improve air quality.
Heavy fog is expected in the plains of Punjab after the rains. The concerned agencies have been instructed to be alert and take necessary measures to avoid untoward incidents.
The Meteorological Department has predicted light rains in most of the districts of Punjab from Thursday evening.
According to the meteorological department, there is a possibility of rains in Punjab from November 14 to 16.
Rains are forecast in Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal, Talagang, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Mianwali, Khushab, and Sargodha.
Bhakkar, Leh and Dera Ghazi Khan are also likely to receive thundershowers on Thursday, while the smog is also expected to reduce due to possible rains.
