Preparations have been completed to transfer Madhubala the elephant in the historic zoo of Karachi, the largest city of Pakistan, to the Safari Park. Madhubala will be transferred to her sisters in a container next Tuesday.
Four Paws, an international animal welfare organization based in Karachi, says that after years of hard work, the time has finally come when Madhu Bala was removed from the environment of the Karachi Zoo and placed with her sisters in the Safari Park. Being killed in a comfortable and better environment.
The Four Paws team says that an elephant is an intelligent animal and needs attention.
The Four Paws team has tried to provide these animals with an environment where they can live a comfortable and healthy life.
According to Amir Khalil, head of the team that relocated Madhu Bala, the elephants will have freedom of movement at the new location, where apart from bathing in water, they will be able to play in the pond and have ample opportunity to visit other recreational areas.
It should be noted that three times more space has been built for the elephants in the safari park than before, where these three elephants will be able to live in a better environment.
Preparations have also been completed for the reception of Madhubala the elephant at Karachi Safari Park. Madhubala is visiting her sisters Sonia and Malaika after 15 years.
The date of Madhubala’s transfer has been fixed on November 26 by Mayor Karachi.
Remember that these elephants were brought to Pakistan from Tanzania in the middle of 2009. Two of them were kept in Karachi Zoo and two in Safari Park.
One of these four female elephants, Hathani Noor Jahan, died due to illness in Karachi zoo in March last year. After Noor Jahan’s death, Baldia Uzma Karachi and the Four Paws team decided to shift Madhubala from the zoo to the Safari Park.
