The Judicial Commission of Pakistan has constituted a seven-member constitutional bench headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan.
According to local media, this decision was taken in the Judicial Commission meeting held in Islamabad on Tuesday.
Justice Jamal Mandukhel, Justice Mohammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Ayesha A. Malik, Justice Azhar Rizvi, Justice Musrat Hilali and Justice Naeem Afghan are included in the constitutional bench constituted by the Judicial Commission.
The Judicial Commission has constituted this bench with a majority of five to seven, which includes two judges each from Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan and one judge from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
It should be noted that according to the 26th constitutional amendments, constitutional benches were to be constituted in all the five high courts including the Supreme Court.
In this amendment, it was also stated that the appointment of judges for the Constitution Bench will be done by the Judicial Commission of Pakistan.
Senior Judges, Federal Law Minister, Attorney General and Bar Council representatives and five members of Parliament participated in this meeting of the Judicial Commission.
