After the final call of protest on November 24 by Aleema Khan, the sister of the founding chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), an important consultative meeting was called at Peshawar’s Chief Minister’s House last night, in which Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and other central Leaders participated. In this important meeting, the plan of action regarding the November 24 protest was consulted.
According to party sources, some leaders who participated in the meeting complained about the lack of time for the protest. In the meeting, the senior leaders directed to strictly follow Imran Khan’s decision and prepare for the protest within a week.
A PTI leader told Urdu News that the sudden date of November 24 protest came as a surprise to some leaders.
He said that it is necessary to mobilize the workers for the preparation of the protest, in view of which the party instructed the public representatives to go to the constituencies to prepare for the November 24 protest.
Sitting for ‘Final Call’ in Haripur
According to Fayyaz Ahmed, correspondent of Urdu News, after the meeting in Peshawar last night, an important meeting was held at the residence of PTI leader and opposition leader Umar Ayub in Haripur on the second day, Thursday, in which Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur also participated. In this meeting, the strategy of taking the party leaders into confidence and expelling the workers with full force was discussed.
According to sources in the Chief Minister’s House, the meeting in Haripur was not as per schedule and Ali Amin Gandapur had gone to attend the function of Haripur University.
On the other hand, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while speaking to the media in Peshawar High Court on Thursday, said that the protest will take place in any case regarding which the strategy has been decided, but he cannot say yet, but this time he will go to Islamabad with full preparation. .
They said that protest is our constitutional right, they are taking away our democratic right by putting barriers and arresting us.
On the other hand, Provincial Minister Pakhtun Yar Khan said that after consultation with PTI leaders, a meeting will be held with the MPs under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister, in which the responsibilities will be assigned, and plans will be made to make the protest a success.
He said that the party leaders and workers were eagerly waiting for the final call for the release of the founder chairman.
The situation in Punjab
After Imran Khan’s call for ‘final protest’, the party is also facing a difficult situation in Punjab. This is the first time that such instructions have been given for calling a strike without taking the available leadership of PTI into confidence.
A senior PTI leader told Urdu News on condition of anonymity that ‘we are still trying to understand why this call has been given. Since these calls came out yesterday, two types of thinking are being found in the party.
“One thought is that this is not the right time for a final call and most people are in favor of that,” he said. We believe that Mr Khan has been wrongly briefed. A faction also supports this call, the majority of whom are people who are in hiding. They are promoting it in WhatsApp groups but those who are outside and have been part of previous protest calls are saying that now is not the right time and the chances of success are slim.’
After Imran Khan’s call, the situation inside the party is unclear, but except for a few leaders, the party leadership, which is also available on the media, does not seem to be expressing this decision with enthusiasm.
Shehbaz Gul, the leader of PTI sitting in America, has said through a tweet that this protest will be held across the country. Party Chairman Barrister Gohar has also said on Thursday that ‘this protest will be held all over the world where Pakistanis live because it has been ordered by Imran Khan, the founder of Tehreek-e-Insaaf.’
These statements also give an impression that the party leadership is thinking a little differently than the call for sit-in until the demands are accepted in Islamabad. In which there is talk of protests across the country and around the world.
In Punjab, the active leadership of Tehreek-e-Insaaf is either in hiding or in jails after the events of May 9, but the opposition leader Ahmad Khan Bhachar says that we will participate in this protest on Imran Khan’s call and refer to it. The party has started consultation. Right now many aspects are being discussed in this regard. An effective strategy will be made to participate in the protest on this call.
According to observers, one of the reasons for the apparent reluctance of the available leadership of Tehreek-e-Insaaf may be that the last protest call did not yield the desired results. And the majority of the leadership is keen to resolve issues ‘politically’ rather than confrontationally.
