On the protest of this passenger, other passengers also asked the airline staff that how long will they reach their destination Lahore?
Passengers protested at the airport lounge after not getting a satisfactory response from the PIA staff.
Protesting passengers also tried to stop the process of boarding passes issued from the counters of other PIA flights established at the airport. But the airport security staff reached the lounge in time and controlled the situation.
The incident took place at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport between Sunday and Monday when a flight from Karachi to Lahore was delayed for a few hours due to smog in Punjab.
Passengers traveling in this flight protested strongly against the national airline at the Karachi airport and criticized PIA’s service for delaying the flight.
This is not the first protest against Pakistan’s national airline against flight delays or mismanagement. Even before this, there are daily protests against the national airline at the airports of different cities of Pakistan.
Why are there more reported incidents of protests against PIA than other airlines?
Speaking to Urdu News, aviation expert and senior reporter Tariq Abul Hasan said, “It is a matter of the psychology of passengers who consider standing in straight queues at airports as an insult to their dignity, but from Pakistan’s airspace.” As soon as they get out, they follow the rules and regulations.’
He further said that this whole issue is about the supremacy of law. VIP culture tends to exist in Pakistan, and since the national airline is controlled by the government, it is easy to intimidate. Also, there are many passengers who riot at airports who have influenced government staff in the past. have been using influence.’
He said that there are more reported incidents of protests against national airlines than private airlines. The performance of the state-owned airline is also not satisfactory and there are shortage of planes and deficiencies in administrative matters, but many times passengers are seen protesting in spite of legitimate reasons.
