Bilawal’s meeting with Shehbaz Sharif: Was it agreed to bring the 27th constitutional amendment?

Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Lahore.
According to the statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office on Sunday, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari along with the delegation of the People’s Party met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The political situation of the country and other issues were discussed in the meeting.
After the meeting, local media claimed that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have agreed to bring the 27th constitutional amendment.
Reports said that the concerns regarding the rights of the provinces will be addressed in the proposed 27th amendment and Maulana Fazlur Rehman, MQM and other political parties will also be taken into confidence on this amendment.
‘Whatever happens on the 27th Amendment will be by consensus’
However, senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and advisor to Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah said in response to a question in this regard in the Geo News program that ‘I was present in this meeting, so there was no such agreement, however, it was It is certain that the leadership of Muslim League-N and People’s Party, when the 26th constitutional amendment was being worked on, the various demands that came from different parties, they must have said that we should bring them in the next amendment. At present, attention should be paid to the 26th constitutional amendment.
“So, one thing has been decided that the parliamentary committee which has been formed under the chairmanship of Khurshid Shah should be continued, because whatever happens in the 27th amendment will be done by consensus.” There is no possibility of a unilateral constitutional amendment.
In response to a question, Rana Sanaullah said that the 26th constitutional amendment is absolutely correct and most of it was related to the judiciary, so it is very correct, but the rest of the things that were first discussed and then agreed upon. If there is no opinion, they can be discussed again.
In the statement released by the Prime Minister House, it was said that the Prime Minister said that the Pakistan People’s Party is the main coalition party of the government and it supported the government in every step for the stability of the country’s economy.
The statement further said that the Pakistan People’s Party delegation expressed full confidence while appreciating the government’s economic policies for the stability of the country’s economy.
The delegation of Pakistan People’s Party included former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, Governor Punjab Sardar Salim Haider, Member of National Assembly Syed Naveed Qamar and Mayor Karachi Murtisa Wahab. While on behalf of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Federal Minister for Law Nazir Tarar, senior leader Rana Sanaullah and others were present in the meeting.

‘It’s not that easy to make amends’

It should be noted that JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman had reacted strongly to the news regarding the 27th constitutional amendment on Friday.
Addressing an event two days ago, he said that ‘I am hearing a lot that a 27th constitutional amendment is coming and what could not be done in this (26th constitutional amendment) will be done, your father. Can’t even do it, show it by doing it and then see your fate. It is not so easy that you will bring an amendment and we will sit at home wearing women’s bangles.’
