The army was called in in Islamabad after four Rangers personnel were crushed under a vehicle on the Srinagar highway late at night.
Security sources said on Tuesday morning that ‘clear orders have been given to shoot rioters and miscreants on sight.’
“On the Srinagar highway, miscreants rammed the vehicle on Rangers personnel, which killed four Rangers personnel, while five Rangers and police personnel were seriously injured.”
The private TV channel has said with reference to security sources, ‘The district administration has called the army under Article 245. The army has also been given powers to impose curfew to maintain law and order situation in any area.’
Security sources say that several measures are being taken to deal with terrorist activities. Those who break the law will be dealt with with an iron hand.’
The security sources further said that ‘orders have been given to deal with the anarchists and miscreants with iron hands.’
It should be remembered that while talking to the media on Monday night, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi had said that ‘Do not cross the red line that we have to take any extreme step, for that we have to impose Article 245, even if we have to impose curfew or any other extreme. We have to take steps.’
Mohsin Naqvi said that ‘we cannot allow you to come, storm with 10-15 thousand servants, come and occupy the city.’
It should be noted that under Article 245 of the Constitution, the government has the power to call the army to help the civilian administration to deal with internal or external threats.
The local media said with reference to the police that when the convoy coming to Islamabad reached the Srinagar highway late on Monday night, a speeding vehicle crushed the officials. At least four personnel were killed, including three Rangers and one FC personnel.
It has been reported that the incident took place near the G-Ten signal on the Srinagar highway. According to the sources, five rangers and police personnel were seriously injured in the incident.
Islamabad Police has said that four Rangers and two policemen have lost their lives so far in the attacks on the security personnel by the people participating in the protest. More than a hundred police personnel are injured, many of them are seriously injured.
Earlier there were reports of shelling and clashes at Changi No. 26. PTI workers have allegedly attacked media DSNGs.
The vehicles of Jio News, Sama TV, Snow News, Aaj TV, ARY News, 92 News were smashed and attacked with stones and iron rods.
The media staff barely managed to escape from the crowd, at that time there was no media in convoy number 26. Media vehicles have taken shelter at Nast University, G XI, and Islamabad Chowk locations.
On the other hand, D Chowk was completely sealed late at night and the media was also expelled from there. Unusual security movement is being seen at D Chowk. Security forces are on alert in the red zone.
