Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Chaudhry Salik Hussain while announcing the Hajj Policy 2025 has said that Pakistan’s Hajj quota for the next year is 1 lakh 79 thousand 210.
On Monday, the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, while holding a news conference in Islamabad, said that the ratio of quota distribution for public and private Hajj schemes is 50, 50 percent.
He said that 89 thousand 605 seats have been allocated for public and private Hajj schemes. Five thousand seats will be allocated in the sponsorship scheme in the official Hajj scheme.
Chaudhry Salik Hussain said that ‘to join the sponsorship scheme, it will be necessary to send foreign exchange through the banking channel.
He said that 30,000 seats will be reserved for the sponsorship scheme in the private Hajj scheme while the government sponsorship scheme will be on the principle of ‘first come first served’ and they will be exempted from lottery.
According to the Federal Minister, the foreign exchange collected through the sponsorship scheme will be used only for the payment of Hajj-related expenses in Saudi Arabia.
For the official Hajj scheme, the traditional long package will cover 38 to 42 days and the short package will cover 20 to 25 days. According to Saudi teachings, each organized, private Hajj group will consist of at least 2,000 pilgrims.
He further informed that the expenditure of the official Hajj scheme for Haj 2025 is expected to be between Rs 10 lakh 75 thousand to Rs 11 lakh 75 thousand. The amount of sacrifice in additional facilities is 55 thousand rupees.

For the government scheme, the first installment of Haj dues of Rs 2 lakh has to be submitted along with the Haj application. An additional deposit of Rs 4 lakh is required within ten days of the draw.
Participation in COP 29, Pakistani delegation arrives in Baku
A delegation led by Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Climate Change Rumina Khurshid Alam has arrived in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, to participate in COP 29.

The Pakistan Stock Exchange 100 index has hit a new all-time high on the first day of the business week.
According to the local media, the first day of the business week saw a strong bullishness at the opening of the business and the index gained more than 700 points.
