Former captain of England cricket team and well-known commentator Nasir Hussain has warned Pakistan on the issue of pitch preparation.
According to NDTV, Nasir Hussain has urged Pakistan to review their approach to pitch preparation after their victory in the second Test against England in Multan.
It should be remembered that Pakistan won by 152 runs against England in the second Test match played in Multan.
This match was played on a pitch which is considered very suitable for spin bowlers.
Pakistani spinners Nauman Ali and Sajid Khan took a total of 20 wickets in this match.
Although Nasir Hussain was impressed with the performance of the Pakistan team, on the other hand he also pointed out that the use of pre-made pitches may not be the standard of Test cricket in the country in future.
It may be noted that the pitch used for the second test was the same as the pitch used in the first test match played between England and Pakistan.
In the first Test match between England and Pakistan, the visiting team scored 823 runs in the first innings.
In contrast to this flat pitch, the pitch of the second Test finally provided some opportunities for the bowlers, especially Pakistan’s spinners.
Talking to Sky Sports, Nasir Hussain said that ‘It cannot be possible to play on the same pitch again and again and make it standard, they need to focus on their pitches.’
Apart from this, looking at the current situation, Nasir Hussain also asked Pakistan to find a formula that would be a permanent solution.
He also said that ‘Stick with the same squad, stick with the same two spinners, keep the batting line-up, don’t change selectors and captains too often.’
