The Zimbabwean team has set a new world record by scoring the highest score in the history of T20 international cricket.
According to ESPNcricinfo, in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Africa Qualifier, Zimbabwe set a new world record by scoring 344 runs against Gambia for the loss of four wickets in the Group B match.
Earlier, Nepal held the world record for scoring the most runs in T20 cricket.
Nepal scored 314 runs for the loss of 3 wickets against Mongolia in 2023, which was previously the highest in T20 history.
In this match, Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe also performed exceptionally well and played a brilliant innings of 133 runs.

Sikandar Raza faced only 43 balls in total and completed his century on 33. Sikandar Raza’s aggressive innings included 15 sixes and one four.
This record set by Zimbabwe includes 27 sixes and 30 fours. Out of the total runs, 282 runs were scored only through boundaries.
The interesting thing here is that the highest scoring teams in T20 include two top teams that do not play Test cricket.
Among the teams playing Test matches, India is the only country whose T20 team has made the third highest score in history in this format.
India scored 297 runs for the loss of 6 wickets against Bangladesh this year.
