A gruesome murder has taken place in the southern Indian state of Karnataka where a wife killed her husband along with her accomplice for money and traveled to the border to dispose of the body.
According to NDTV, on October 8, police found a charred body in a coffee plantation near Santi Kopa in Karnataka’s Kodagu district.
When efforts to identify the body failed, the police started going through the CCTV footage to check the vehicles passing through the area and a red Mercedes Benz caught their attention.
The vehicle was registered in the name of Ramesh, whose wife had recently filed a missing complaint.
As the investigation progressed, the police became suspicious of Ramesh’s wife, 29-year-old Naharika.
When the woman was taken into custody, she confessed her involvement in Ramesh’s murder and named her colleagues, veterinary doctor Nikhil and a man named Ankur.
In the investigation, it was revealed that Niharika’s childhood was not a happy one but rather a troubled one. When she was 16, her father died and her mother remarried.
Niharika was a bright student and started working after completing her engineering studies. Meanwhile, they got married which didn’t last long and they got separated after the birth of the child.
Naharika was found involved in a fraud case in Haryana and went to jail where she met Ankur. After coming out of jail, Niharika married businessman Ramesh who gave her a lavish lifestyle.
Then there came a time when she demanded a huge amount of 8 crores from her husband, but he refused, on which Naharika got upset.
She was in a relationship with Nikhil and together with Ankur planned to kill Ramesh to steal his wealth.

On October 1, a businessman was strangled to death in Uppal, Hyderabad, after which the accused collected cash from his house and left for Bengaluru.
They left for Kodagu, more than 800 km from Uppal, where they dumped the body in a coffee plantation and covered the body with a blanket and set it on fire.
After that, the three accused returned to Hyderabad and Niharika lodged a missing report of Ramesh.
Kodagu police chief Ramarajan said, ‘It was a challenging case. The body was burnt three to four days before the complaint was registered.
He further informed that ‘after investigation we have arrested several suspects who have been identified as 29-year-old Naharika and 28-year-old veterinary doctor Nikhil. Niharika is the main accused who allegedly killed Ramesh.’
